About haysphoto

I have been a Colorado wedding & portrait photographer for about 8 years and have loved every minute of it. It is such an honor to be able to capture my clients at one of the happiest times in there lives. I graduated from the Art Institute of Colorado and started my own business shortly after. I have a beautiful family that I cherish and love with all of my heart and soul. I work with an amazing assistant who has been with me since day 1 and she will never know how much I truly appreciate her and her hard work. I plan to do this for a long long time it is truly my passion.

Justin and Dana Colorado Engagement

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph another one of my super sweet cousins engagement session. My cousin Justin is so sweet he wrote will you marry me in the snow at a ski resort in red and as they were going up on the gondola Dana saw it and he dropped to one knee and had the ring. They wanted to do their engagement at Red Rocks and as we all know it is quite the location and what made it even better was Dana had never been to Red Rocks so it made it even more special. Justin and Dana will be tying the knot in Key Largo FL in November 2012 and I hope to be there to photograph it. CONGRATULATIONS  JUSTIN AND DANA

Mindy and Sean Colorado Wedding

My friend Mindy married the love of her life on August 15th at Mt. Princeton Resort and Hot Springs just outside of Buena Vista. I love when I get to photograph my friends and families weddings there is nothing better then photographing those special moments for people who you are close to. Sean and Mindy’s wedding was small and intimate and the energy surrounding them was amazing. Thank you Mindy and Sean for letting me be apart of your special day..

Waterman Kids

They don’t get much sweeter then this. All of these kids some of them not so much kids anymore are sweet, loving, happy, and adorable. When you are with all of them you can really feel how connected they are as siblings and how much they love each other. I love my job…..

Sam’s Wedding Proposal

A few months ago my friend Sam told me he was going to propose to his girlfriend Abby and I was so excited for him I said you should let me photograph it. Knowing Sam to be a hopeless romantic I knew he would come up with a great plan and it would be so great to photograph. He decided to propose in downtown Denver on the bridge over 20th connecting to Coors Field were it had all started with a fake proposal a few years back to fool a friend of Abby’s. He made up some tall tale to get Abby to the location by herself, I picked him up and we made our way down to the location. Sam was so nervous and excited all at the same time so I tried to keep him distracted with conversation about other things. When we arrived we checked out the location and he worked on what he was going to say, then we waited. It was to agonizing so we went over to the bar and he did a shot to chill out a little. Soon she arrived and he waited as she waked toward him and once she reached him he said a few things to her and then dropped to one knee and proposed. She was totally surprised  and started crying then she said YES. My heart was pounding and I was so happy for them I teared up a little my self. This was such an amazing moment to be apart of I am so happy for Abby and Sam to start their life together…CONGRATULATIONS ..

Mandy and Todd Colorado Wedding

So right off the bat when I first met with Mandy and Todd I knew it was fate because Todd’s last name is Hays! I had so much fun at this wedding Mandy and Todd were so easy to work with even though they just wanted to get to the party they put up with me squeezing in just a few more pictures. The wedding party got a great laugh at my expense as I proceeded to fall back into the water fountain as I was taking the wedding party pictures and not just once but twice, thank goodness my feet were all that got wet. I loved the band at the reception and everyone had a great time in the photo booth. Congratulations Mandy and Todd thank you for letting Hays Photography capture your special day.
